Vastu Shastra (Sanskrit: वास्तु शास्त्र - "science of architecture") is an ancient Indian system of architectural planning and design that originated over 7,000 years ago. Its primary goal is to harmonize space by aligning buildings with natural and cosmic forces: sunlight, wind, the Earth's magnetic field, and gravity. The Four Main Aspects of Vastu (The Four Pillars):

Dik-Nirnaya (Orientation):

Precise alignment of the building with the cardinal directions (North, South, East, West) to synchronize with the Earth's magnetic fields and solar energy.

Padavinyasa (Site Planning):

Dividing the floor plan into a sacred grid to determine the ideal placement of rooms and open spaces based on energy distribution.

Maana (Proportions):

Strict adherence to mathematical proportions (height, width, and length) to ensure the structure resonates with cosmic harmony.

Ayadi (Energy Calculations):

A set of six mathematical formulas used to check the "vibration" of the building, ensuring its energy output is positive and beneficial for the inhabitants.
